The last few days i am having to many problems with my pc.I really cant hear sum ppl say that it served its purpose for 5 years and now u ll have to buy a new pc.my 80386 pc is still working.;PPPP
Anyway...recently i discovered my cd recorder and dvd rom (BTC both)
were unusable aka stroke by amperes.
my dvd-recorder is what left....i was using alcohol for 1 month now and its the baddest program i ve ever seen,it cant make svcds vcd and many more that nero could do...
At the other hand daemon tools and nero were unable to autodetect my dvd-recorder (NEC) and as usual i started emailing these companies.
well the answer i got from them was very "unprofessional" (amateur).
they answered me like:get a sony dvd recorder...and i started sending my lawyer to clean up the things a liltle with those so called big companies.
yesterday they replied me nicely the following:
bla bla bla
We are sorry for the inconvinience but our company does not support the dvd recorder you use.Well i strongly believe that these 3 companies are the smallest software production companies in the whole world.
So...after all these...i want sum replies on what program to use that does everythin...from mounthing images to converting avi to svcd, vcd etc etc..
in other words DVD RECORDER SUITE.
any suggestions are welcomed.

Have you tried any of the Roxio products? Easy Media Creator may suit your needs.

I just made a tutorial for burning vcd's and scvd's with Nero. You can find it here.

Glad to hear Ahead Nero decided to support your dvd burner. Very Happy

What is the file extension for the file? (The last part of the name, for example .avi, .mpg, .vob)

If you can't see it you will need to turn on a setting so that you can. In Windows Explorer, click Tools - Folder Options - View and then remove the check mark from "Hide Extensions for known file types".
